This little painting was hanging on the wall during a Mayne Island studio tour when a woman stopped, smiled, and said, "Oh, that's the Brick Dock!" without a moment's hesitation. Until then, I hadn't realized I'd painted such a recognizable Mayne Island landmark. I'd simply been painting the shapes, colours, and feeling of the scene.
