I usually start with a composition in mind, but somewhere along the way the painting starts making its own decisions. In this case it was her arm. It wanted to keep going, right off the canvas. Once I get into that painting zone, I stop trying to control it. I don't think about selling or whether anyone will like it. I just paint what seems to want to come out the brush. 11x14 acrylic on canvas.
